There’s something special about being up early and out and about before the rest of the world starts to stir. That special morning light as the sun starts to warm up, a slight chill making the air somehow seem cleaner than usual, and everything just slightly quieter and more peaceful.
Double Espresso was inspired by these early morning starts. For so many reasons being out on the bike just after dawn on a summer’s day is a special experience. But we’re not super human, and a welcome morning caffeinated pick me up is the order of the day.
For us, morning departures on the bike often include a trek somewhere; a little expedition like bike packing across the border to the Belgian coast line, cycling to visit family or travelling to a friend's wedding by bike.
The peace and quiet can't be more rewarding than when you're out pedalling your bike as you see the sun rise, feel the dawn on your eye lashes and see the wildlife around you awaken. Just like our cravings for caffeine, these rides tend to become rather addictive.
Those of you who recognise the painful weekend alarm clock, but just as much feel your Saturdays or Sundays aren't complete without early morning rides might enjoy some of our early morning adventures on Instagram:

Ladies! Do you find yourself riding the same riding spots all the time or wishing you could try somewhere new but are unsure if your ability fits the location or where to go once you get there? Glower Rides are a series of events for women (which guys are welcome to tag along to – no barriers here!) we’re holding this year to help introduce riders of beginner to intermediate levels to new awesome riding spots.
If like us, you’ve always toyed with the idea of integrating vanlife into your regular travels and bike adventures, let us share with you our first experience of the rolling home. Guaranteed, it won’t be long until we’ve convinced you to ditch your car.
