When mountain biking some riders love going uphill; the grind, the pain, the challenge, the pounding heart. In XC we appreciate the skill of a technical climb, the satisfaction of getting up the rocks and roots blocking the way forward. Making it to the top of a difficult feature, seriously earning the adrenaline fuelled decent. This design is not about that.
Up Lifting was originally inspired by our trip to Bike Park Wales as described on our blog. The full-on downhill centre in South Wales has everything you need for an exciting, uplifting day flying down mountains on two wheels. The idea grew during one of our many slow and steady rides up the fire trails, excited for the next ride down, tired and bored of the featureless climb.
Downhill centres are not about technical ups, just wide flat gravel paths meandering their way past the trails to the start line. Surely there is an easier, quicker way to get to the top.
Bike Park Wales has a bus ride to the top, while our recent trip to Tignes had the luxury of cable cars and chair lifts. It’s not very exciting though is it? Easy, sure, but wouldn’t it be great if you could fly up like you fly down? Double dose adrenaline. Get ready to take the Glower Up Lift to the top.
