Entry to Black Mountain Cycle Centre (BMCC) Women's riding with Glower & Liz - July 6th

Ladies! Do you find yourself riding the same riding spots all the time or wishing you could try somewhere new but are unsure if your ability fits the location or where to go once you get there?

Glower Rides are a series of events for women (which guys are welcome to tag along to – no barriers here!) we’re holding this year to help introduce riders of beginner to intermediate levels to new awesome riding spots.

The days of riding are aimed at getting you to progress your riding, try something new and expand your network of riding buddies. Each location you’ll be hosted by a friendly local female, so you can tap into their experience and always have a contact when you want to return.

Please note that these rides are not coaching sessions, but social rides aimed at exploring new places and connecting with fellow riders.

Where are we going?

Our third and kinda-mid-summer stop will bring us to the Black Mountains Cycle Centre (BMCC - post code for Sat Nav: NP7 7PE). BMCC is a downhill uplift park on the edge of the Black Mountains in Wales, near Abergavenny.

Our guide for the day is our very own “Downhill Only” creator, An Marien of Glower Clothing. An lives and breathes the park life, as we’re sure you’ve seen in her designs and is rather fond of BMCC.

What's the plan for the day?

Boasting 5 Blue trails and 5 Red trails this isn’t just a park full of pro-lines for Veronique Sandler, Tahnee Seagrave and the G-up crew, it is actually very beginner friendly for those wanting to explore a little more into the downhill world and fancy a change from Bike Park Wales - read more here:https://www.mbr.co.uk/news/trail_news/black-mountains-cycle-centre-323504

We’ll help you through the slightly different format with tractor uplift, get some lady-laps in down the Blue Trails to get warm and get a feel for the place and hopefully encourage you to explore a little more of what the location has to offer. Hey, if the weather’s good we may even throw a BBQ after riding - this is going to be a chilled and fun location to get the park laps in!

What do I need to know?

  • BMCC is an uplift park and so you will need to book your place on the uplift in advance (£38): https://blackmountainscyclecentre.com/book-now/. Book soon as spaces are limited and weekends tend to fill up quickly.
  • We recommend full face helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves for this
  • BMCC is a really simple bike park, there is no cafe so bring a packed lunch, drinks and snacks. They do however have portaloos so you can make yourself comfy between runs!
  • We will have a mechanic in the group, however please come prepared - bring the appropriate tools, inner-tubes etc that you’d expect to for a trail riding day to ensure you can keep rolling should you experience a puncture or a minor mechanical

We will confirm more details closer to the event, but feel free to ask us any questions through any of our social media channels: Glowerclothing on Instagram or Facebook
