Entry to Rogate Women's riding with Glower & Liz - March 23rd

Ladies! Do you find yourself riding the same riding spots all the time or wishing you could try somewhere new but are unsure if your ability fits the location or where to go once you get there?

Glower Rides are a series of events for women (which guys are welcome to tag along to – no barriers here!) we’re holding this year to help introduce riders of beginner to intermediate levels to new awesome riding spots.

The days of riding are aimed at getting you to progress your riding, try something new and expand your network of riding buddies. Each location you’ll be hosted by a friendly local female, so you can tap into their experience and always have a contact when you want to return.

Please note that these rides are not coaching sessions, but social rides aimed at exploring new places and connecting with fellow riders.

Where are we going?

Our first stop on the tour will be Rogate Bike Park with Liz Greaves, our Glower ambassador and KonaUK Rider. Liz loves Rogate for its simplicity of session runs, friendly regulars and the fact it runs well even in the wet!

The single blue-graded trail at the park, Bottle Rocket, is enough to keep most riders entertained all by itself. Top to bottom, it’s perfect for a good warm-up, and gives an insight pumping and cornering on Rogate’s trademark dirt. It’s also a great introduction to riding, bike park style. What's the plan for the day?

Liz will show you around the popular tracks of Rogate, starting on the blue line for all abilities and moving around the park based on what you want to see and achieve that day – it’s a relaxed event, no pressure to ride certain things, we’ll be going at the pace of the slowest rider so no one gets left behind and everyone has fun.

We’ll also have a little social over a drink at the nearby pub after. So if you fancy yourself a bit of downhill riding with other lady shredders, sign up by adding your entry to the basket and join us for some fun!  Once you've bought your entry, you will be put into the draw for a give-away that will get you some Glower goodies!

What do I need to know?

  • To attend you must be a member of B1ke - Sign up for free here and bring your ID card with you, you can use this at a number of other parks too (see site).
  • Rogate is a push-up bike park, so no lift passes required but you need £5 cash to pay on the day to ride there
  • Parking: Rogate has no specific car park so the team there have asked if you can car pool if possible – we get it’s not possible for all, but if you’re traveling with a mate it’ll help! Parking is on the roadside verge around the bike park.
  • Facilities: Bring with you plenty to drink and a packed lunch, there are no toilets or café at Rogate (it’s in the sticks!), we will however be visiting the nearby pub after the session so you can grab some food, refreshments and make yourselves a little more comfortable!
  • Clothing and protection: As Rogate is a downhill park we recommend full face helmet (Though not compulsory for park rules), knee and arm pads and gloves. The rule with all these events is standard: No helmet, no ride.
